Papers of the Pickman and Walcott families, 1694-1895, consist primarily of business papers of Salem, Mass. merchant and loyalist Benjamin Pickman, including the records of trading voyages and accounts made to the West Indies on the schooner Olive under Captain Timothy Wellman, Jr. Also includes correspondence from Wellman regarding prices of goods and purchases made in Petit-Goave, ship cargo and accounts; and estate papers of family members.

The diaries appear to have been kept by Benjamin Pickman (1740-1819) during his 10 year exile in England. Massachusetts banned him in 1778 for being a loyalist during the American Revolution.
